A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace Episode 11 – “It’s Important to Actually Experience It”

On December 12th of the year 2025, I turned 21. This holds absolutely no bearing on the post, I just wanted to say that since I also brought it up in my post about the previous episode.

Anyway, I’ve been loving turning on this series and seeing what occurs to the characters as they do their regular day to day things. Considering that we’re getting close to the end of the anime season, I was wondering how they were going to get this to wind down. And it seems that this episode contains part of that answer.

This episode has two plots that kind of occur at the same time, one having more of a Nashida focus, and one having more of a Nekonote focus, though there are times when those plots intersect.

Nashida’s panicking about being able to make a spin-off manga she got assigned to make match the expectations that the mangaka of the original has, meanwhile Nekonote is nervous regarding what’s happening in her life, including pitching a series she wants to work on to Sato, to try and become a mangaka herself.

This overall makes the episode a half-and-half source of enjoyment for me. On one hand, Nekonote, yay! I love seeing her in episodes! On the other, great, more Nashida. As if we haven’t had enough of her already.

Seriously, can Nashida go back to her place of residence full time now? I feel like she’s overstayed her welcome at Futami’s place. Literally down on my knees begging and pleading that the next episode starts with Nashida finally going back home.

I already talked about why I feel Nashida doesn’t work as a main cast member in my writeup for the previous episode, I don’t want to repeat it here.

Overall, I think this was a great way to provide more development for Nekonote, and I love how Toko plays a part in this episode as well! Honestly, I wish that Nekonote got more screentime in this series, as I think out of all of the characters (aside from our main girl Futami), she’s the most interesting.

Like, yes, please give me more information about Nekonote. I want to understand more about her to see just how much like me for real she is. Please, A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace, tell me that at this point in your source (and hopefully this anime, too!), you give Nekonote more attention. Nekonote definitely feels like she works with the cast better than Nashida.

I’ll just wait and see as the anime releases more episodes to see whether or not Nekonote gets more love in the series. Hopefully the answer is yes, but I don’t know at this time.
