I’m going to get my opinion on the episode out of the way first: I think this was a much better episode compared to last week. There were aspects of it that were a mix of nice callbacks and just overall felt like it made more sense compared to last week. If we had begun with this episode instead of the surprising (that’s the last time I’m doing anything even remotely similar to that, I promise) mess that was last week’s episode, I probably would have a more favorable opinion of the episodes we’re getting this cour compared to what it is now.
Thank goodness that I base my opinion of a series on the whole, not just one bad apple. I can understand what was most likely the production reason for the existence of last week’s episode, but last week’s was still the weakest overall in my opinion. Hopefully the remaining episodes continue being as strong as this week’s.
The episode begins with Panzy calling her pal, who gave her the PIN for the ship she’s on to be able to use Warp-sama, just to check in with him. After the check-in, the group arrives at Warp-sama…only to find that he’s not responding because of freaking Gomah telling Degesu (woah, Sara actually using the name of Shin’s brother) too. So, unless the tunnel gets unblocked, everyone’s stuck in the Second Demon World. Fun! How will they get out of this one?
The answer is that Neva eliminates the barrier between the Demon Worlds, allowing free travel among them again. With this barrier now eliminated, the crew makes their way down to the First Demon World…though we’re leaving the ship behind, though keeping the Dragon Balls in tow. All the Dragon Balls are now in the First Demon World…which means we’re getting closer to finding out where Glorio’s motivations truly are. Does he really want to help Goku and the crew? Or does he have an ulterior motive?
At the same time that this part of the story is going on (after the barrier gets dispelled), Gomah ends up pulling out the ✨special forces✨ of the Gendarmerie.

These guys are literally so silly. I’m not threatened by them at all. There’s also a fun scene where these five meet Kuu and Duu, and I think it’s honestly so sweet how these five interact with the Buu/Saibaman hybrids.
This series has been a fun way to reveal more of the Dragon Ball lore, and I’ve been loving watching it every week! Still no confirmation on how many cours this series will be, but since we’re now in the First Demon World, I can’t imagine this lasting for more than two or three cours. But whatever episode count this series does end up having, I’ll be here watching to see where it goes.
Next week’s episode is going to be another episode that breaks the “one word episode title” standard, and based on the name, I suspect that Hybis will finally find out what he’s actually dragging along. And maybe Glorio will use that to his advantage and–*gets hit by Nyoibo, most likely by accident*
…okay, okay, I’ll keep my Glorio skepticism for future events on the down low. I’m sorry, but I just don’t trust Glorio. I think basically everyone reading this already knows this. I just want to make it especially clear now since I’m getting the vibe we’re getting close to the end game.
