What’s going to be interesting with me posting this writeup much later than I usually do on Sundays is that it’s a little experiment. Is the 12 PM hour just too crowded with scheduled posts, to the point where my posts are consistently being dropped by Jetpack for autoposting? Or is my theory correct and, for one reason or another, Jetpack just doesn’t fuck with Ruri Rocks the way I do? After all, the social previews that Jetpack provides shows that it can generate a preview for my posts on Ruri Rocks, it’s just that, for one reason or another, Bluesky refuses to autopost the Ruri Rocks posts I do. This is likely going to be the final time that I bring this up. I think y’all are getting tired of me repeatedly bringing this up.
This is another episode that explores rocks and water together, beginning with a school project about environmental issues, and including an explanation as to how rocks describe the past and constantly flowing water describes the present, all to lead to a conclusion that was honestly rather sweet.
Though I’m getting the vibe that it’s also telling kids “hey! Factories are the bad guys that mineralogists face, as what they release are making testing the water to see what materials are in it and as a result what rocks are in there harder to determine!”, which isn’t a bad message for the show.
Yet again, this episode of Ruri Rocks was quite enjoyable for me to watch. The characters were interacting quite nicely, and it was nice to see Shoko be part of an expedition from the beginning and not just stumbling into the adventure because it was nearby. And with how Shoko was acting, especially during the scene where she and Ruri were working together on the project while looking at the mineral that they found. Shoko looking away while blushing because she once referred to Ruri by first name instead of last name…
I understand it’s likely an embarrassment blush instead of a crushing blush, but in some cases, that’s literally the best you can get for family friendly yuri in the anime territory at this point in time. Maybe there will be more clear yuri signs in the future. But, hey, regardless of whether or not Ruri and Shoko remain friends or if they begin developing feelings that go past friendship, I love this show. And you know what? I hope it remains that way for quite some time.
