Ruri Rocks Episode 10 – “Sentence to an Abandoned Railroad”

Another episode of the show about a girl named Ruri finding rocks that I think rocks. That’s the sign that it’s another Sunday. And, absolutely no connection to the episode itself, but I’ve just felt a lot more tired today than usual. Maybe it’s because I didn’t head to bed until like 11 PM last night, but it still feels like I need more rest.

However, actually on topic now, I enjoyed this episode! It was fun to learn about a rock that forms naturally! Not to say I don’t enjoy the episodes that discuss man made stuff, as those provide insight on challenges that real life mineralogists face when trying to do their thing. But, I’ll be honest, I just picked up this series to see the pretty rocks. :]

It was also nice to see Imari take up a leadership role and for Nagi to not be involved. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nagi! However, showing how the people you work with won’t be available all the time to engage in your hobby/study is a good thing to show, as it helps to make the characters more human!

Something that’s gotta be made clear is that this is an episode where I think the journey to how we get to the ending of the episode is a lot more important than the journey. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. After all, for a lot of things in life, the journey is more important than the destination.

I also love how there’s also a book that gets woven into the plot, which helps Imari to frame her findings. I think it’s intended to show that you can do anything to frame what things you figure out with mineralogy, as long as it makes sense to you.

Honestly, while I’d love to make this writeup longer, I just don’t think I’m awake enough to be able to formulate the kind of stuff I’d like to do for this writeup, and for that, I apologize. However, I am excited for next week’s episode, and I hope that I’ll have a better writeup ready for you guys next week at this time.
