With all the news coming out in the world, it can be hard to find peace, serenity, and calm within all of it. And, in all honesty, that’s perfectly fair, since in a lot of cases, it can be hard to fully separate yourself from what’s happening in the chaos of the outside world. That’s when you take time to unplug yourself from the chaos in the bigger world and take time to keep yourself feeling okay mentally, and forge moments of peace whenever you can. And for me, With You and the Rain is how I forge those peaceful moments for myself.
And, as per usual, this has been a fun show, with this episode being a great one. The title is rather fitting: we see that Fuji has helped to finish the creation of a new thing (as well as make a new memory with her friends), and she and her friends discuss what to do with old things when they’ve been dragged to Fuji’s apartment to do spring cleaning. Like, literally, I don’t think you can come up with a better name for this episode if you tried.
Honestly, seeing to see that Fuji was able to finish something, even if we don’t get to see the finished product of it, is still cool in its own right. It just shows that as long as you keep working hard, you too can follow your dreams. And I think that’s one of the coolest things a series can do: motivate its viewers to keep following their dreams. Regardless of whether that’s shown in a big way or a small way, that message is one that should be kept close to one’s heart.
The other part of the episode also has a good message: reuse and gift stuff when possible, as that is one of the best ways to cut down on over-consumerism and reducing how much waste goes into landfills, which will keep the earth we live on cleaner as a result. That’s another great message to be sharing, as the fact that the world could get to the point where, despite how much work we put in, we may never be able to reverse the effects of global warming, so we have to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we reasonably can.
There also wasn’t anything that was in this episode that made me think “why did they include this?”, which I always believe is a good sign for a series. And while there’s still one more episode before the conclusion of the series, I think it’s safe for me to make my judgment now, and hope that the next episode backs it up: this is the perfect series to sit down and chill to if you need around 22 to 23 minutes or so to just sit down and chill. While there isn’t an overarching plot, this is a slice of life show, so it doesn’t really need that. And that’s perfectly fine.
