Yeah, I know, the numbering I did for this episode is odd. But I’m not gonna let you guys be as caught off guard as I was with how this episode was…ordered? Is that the proper terminology that I should be using here? Look, I don’t know, my brain is scrambled eggs at the moment. Or maybe it’s sunny side up now. Who knows. So, it’s time for me to divide my thoughts based on how they’re divided in the episode.
EPISODE 12
For this section of the episode, we have two halves: the critter asking Fuji why she likes the rain, and Fuji and her friends going out bowling. I forgot which order these were in during the episode, so I’m just going to tell my thoughts based on the order I have down here, and if that’s wrong, then oh well.
Honestly, I found it sweet that the critter was trying to probe into Fuji and why she likes the rain. Though, even though the critter argues that you need a reason to like something, I’d like to provide a counterargument: there are some things that people like that even they don’t know why they like. And that’s not a bad thing. Either they need more time to find the words to define why they like it, or there’s no reason for them to like it but they like it anyway.
Then the part of the episode where Fuji and her friends went bowling was so fun! It was nice to see them (and the characters that appeared in the previous part) again! It was a nice little reunion of the characters, and I’m glad that we got to see some of these guys one more time before the curtains fell on this series!
This was such a nice way to wrap up the main part of the series, and I was glad I was able to see it. Now, notice what I said. Main part of the series. Because the ending theme for this episode was at the halfway point of the episode instead of the end. Because this episode was also joined by…
EPISODE .0
This part feels part prologue, part reframing of earlier events. I don’t know how to classify it, but this part does end with the same event that was the inciting incident for this series to proceed forward as it has. Being able to see this scene again, and this time with some added context for who Fuji is as a person, was a really nice treat after everything that was in this series. After all, I didn’t really feel like I knew who Fuji was as a character after seeing the scene the first time. Seeing it the second time, though, really makes me feel…something. Words are failing me at the moment. Sorry. 😦
Man, I’m gonna miss this series. It was nice to sit down and watch it every Saturday. If a second season does get confirmed, then I’m coming back. Until that point, though, I’ll just sit and enjoy the peace and serenity that this series gave me.
