Suddenly, me writing down the name of the episode in the episode preview just to be able to provide the name of an episode alongside its number when letting people know that the next episode isn’t out yet is a stroke of genius on my part.

Like, look at that. Unless you either saw Episode 8 and knew that the next episode was supposed to be named that way, or noted it down in time while watching this episode, you’d have to go to an outside source just to get the episode title. I love being smart and getting episode titles ahead of time! :]
Hopefully Crunchyroll eventually goes back and fixes that, but–yeah, no, I doubt they will, considering all the shit they’ve been pulling as of late. Honestly, I’m just glad that one out of my three simulcasts that I watch on Crunchyroll hasn’t been impacted by this yet.
Anyway, onto the actual episode. Futami’s noticed that she’s gained weight, and so, by the suggestion of her editor, they go on a walk. During this walk, they find a dog (which had been showing up in the opening since episode 1 and it felt like it was taunting me with its presence until now), which Futami decides to take in, as well as the reactions of some of the people that Futami has met during her time as a mangaka to this new fluffy friend.
There’s more that happens in the episode, but that’s basically the gist of it. And honestly, it was enjoyable. We finally got to see the dog in the series proper. While we won’t be spending as much time with the puppy as I would’ve liked, at least it exists and wasn’t just made for the opening.
Though I’m not particularly fond of Nashida as a character. Like, girl, can you please just go back to your place full time now? Scenes with her just don’t feel fun a lot of the time, and she’s disrupting a previously great character dynamic between Futami and Mizuki.
Despite my current frustration with Nashida, though, this was still a fun episode. Maybe all my frustrations with Nashida are being cancelled out by the puppy. Who knows at this point. But I’m at the point in the series where it feels too late to turn back now, so I may as well make it through the remainder of this series so that I can at least see how the anime wraps things up.
