Sara Talks Anime

…well, this episode didn’t go in the way that I expected it to when I saw the title pop up in the episode preview of the previous episode. With how the episode ended, I thought for sure that we’d get a continuation of the online orders thing. Well, we did.

Via a line at the beginning of the episode that pointed out that the influx of online orders died out after a week. While realistic, I think it would’ve been interesting to see Kinme needing to navigate the sudden influx in orders. I guess this is a case of “status quo is god”, though, because I guess we can’t suddenly shake up Kinme’s status quo too hard.

Anyway, the actual plot of this episode follows Kinme as she befriends and hangs out with the girl who’s in charge of the tourist division of City Hall who’s having struggles with interacting with others, which is honestly a realistic struggle to see. The first part where we got introduced to her was really sweet, especially with Kinme helping her build up her confidence by taking her to the public bath.

Kinme also spends her day off helping the new girl with a modeling thing for a newsletter, which the two do to spend time together. It involves a ferry ride to an island, with the island trip having photos get taken. I hope we get to see the newsletter in a future episode.

We also have a hook where, prior to leaving, Kinme pauses and looks over the place, as if she’s lost in her memories. Could the island that they visited be the place that Kinme originally came from? Or at least somewhere that was important to Kinme before she lost her memories?

With this series being a more lowkey episode, and this episode really not having much of an impact on me outside of the whole “they glossed over the online orders, man!” thing, which honestly took less words than I thought it would. But seeing the title of the next episode, I think that’s going to put more of an impact on me.

Though, considering my raising, I’m probably going to be pointing out things that Kinme could’ve done that are basically habit for me, but may not be for her because she’s Japanese. Apologies if that’s annoying.
