…I had genuinely thought that this episode was going to take a different route when it came to Pretty Holic. But no, I guess we have to keep it around for some reason. Okay, I’ve gotta rewind and explain exactly why I’m feeling this way.
The plot of this episode revolves around how Anna and Mikuru are like “man, it’s sad we’re the only people who can use the PreKit items :(“, and then decide to have Jett use his inventing skills and his powers to take the lip gloss and a perfume idea and create makeup, to have a store above the CUREtto Detective Agency.
…oh my gosh, I’m never going to get used to the cure in CUREtto being all uppercase. Like, I can type it just out of habit, but I’m still not used to it.
Anyway, we also learned in this episode that Jett doesn’t just make gadgets. He also made clothes for Pochitan, and they were adorable!! This episode also reveals how Jett makes his inventions look so cute, and how he got his goggles, and why his gadgets are both cute and functional! Yeah, so when it comes to lore, this is a more Jett focused episode.
And because we’ve gotta have the detective aspect, there’s a new Makoto Jewel in the city, which Nijee is chosen to head out to get. And it just so happens that the Makoto Jewel is Jett’s goggles. If that doesn’t scream “Jett focused episode”, I don’t know what does.
I can’t think of anything else from the episode that I really want to point out, so I guess I’ll air my grievances with this episode out now. It seems like Pretty Holic is going to be a recurring part of this series. I genuinely thought that it’d close down after this episode, but nope. Is this to help sell Meitantei Precure branded makeup or something? Just…whatever, whatever. This is a series meant for children.
…oh wait, just remembered that Cure Arcana Shadow (albeit in an illusion disguise before revealing her actual identity away from Anna and Mikuru) buys from Pretty Holic. Genuinely hope that Cure Arcana Shadow stays on the side of the Phantom Thieves’ Guild, as I don’t really think that her potentially joining the team would be fun.
With the preview for the next episode, we see a character who looks like they could be the human form of the one person in the key illustration that we haven’t seen hide nor hair of…but note my word usage. They could just look really similar and exist purely as a red herring for that. Who knows.
I just…there’s not much about this episode I want to talk about. Except from the fact that, according to the most recent version of Crunchyroll’s Winter 2026 lineup, episodes of this series are intentionally coming out at 6:30 PM now. Booo! And doing my own research, it seems this is usual for Precure seasons, as You and Idol Precure did this exact same thing during its airing. At the very least, the Precure seasons aren’t the only shows to do this. I guess I’ll just…wait for Standard Time to return so I can get my preferred episode release time on Crunchyroll back.
