Kill Blue Episode 6 – “How About a ‘Thank You’?”

Futsal. Look, I can’t come up with anything better to lead into this post, okay? I tried and I failed, so now you’re just getting a basic one word thing. I know it sucks, but that was one of the few takeaways I got from this episode that I felt comfortable putting here as it wouldn’t spoil what’s to come. I’ll get into actually writing about the episode now.

The episode has a large focus on the futsal match between Ogami and Tenma, with Ogami finding the joy in this as well. Because why wouldn’t he. He did it with studying, of course he will with sports.

The futsal match was very entertaining, though I was kind of caught off guard by how it ended. I think I don’t need to say anything more than that, because I think if I go too much further into why it caught me off guard, you’d know exactly why I’m saying it. But I will say that because of what occurred, Ogami and the two people who were helping him out end up winning the game.

Tenma does require first aid after the match, which is given to him by the president of the home ec club. Unfortunately, because Ogami showed off a bit too much of his skill, thus causing the sports clubs to want to recruit him, thus causing him to be seemingly later than usual to the home ec club meeting.

Tenma himself also comes to apologize to the club…and also launch a moment that got both me and my mom laughing at how it sparked up, involving Tenma, the club president, and her brother. The scene’s still fresh in my mind: Tenma asking the club president out, with her brother, usually being so quiet, being like “I don’t care what you are, I’ll grind you into meat” was just so funny to me.

I also like the post credits scene of this episode. It was a nice way to tie all of this nicely together without having the club recruitments carry too far into the series. That makes Tenma an enjoyable character for me, even if just an episode ago I wanted him to get knocked down a peg or two.

And with this, that’s another rival dealt with, though it seems like he may not be a recurring regular when compared to Shin. Maybe I’ll be surprised and Tenma will continue to make regular appearances. Regardless, we’re officially halfway done with this cour! I really hope that Kill Blue gets a second cour once this one is all said and done in late June. I really enjoy these guys, and I want to see more of their antics!
