…okay, I know I haven’t even begun reviewing this episode yet, but this was certainly an episode. Not going to say anything else until I get into talking about the episode because I think this is an experience that you guys need to see to believe. Or I guess read in this case, since I’m doing a WRITEUP. Lol.
The episode begins with Takao and Takanashi meeting up with the police folks and exchanging the information that they have about the case. Of course, it begins as a case where it seems like the current suspect is the only one that could’ve done it, and will get arrested. After hearing the detective guy state that the suspect would get arrested that night, however, Takao decides that now is the perfect time to go do a stakeout until the suspect guy arrives.
While waiting, Takao has to look like she’s kissing Takanashi so that police officers that are coming in their general direction so that they don’t look sus. If this were me a year ago, I’d probably comment that I’m suffering from a disease known only as cringitius or just find another way to word it. But I’m now in my era where I’m cringe and free, and I refuse to apologize for utilizing lingo that’d be considered “outdated” just because the internet deems it to be outdated. What can I say, it’s hip to be square.
When the suspect comes out, however, Takao and Takanashi get to them and go to their house, at which they discuss the suspect’s alibi. By looking at the suspect’s forehead, however, Takao manages to deduce that the alibi they’re telling is a lie and even piece together what they were actually doing at that time. So, of course, this alibi should be heard out by the police, right?
…hahaha, if you thought that was enough to clear the suspect’s name, you’re wrong. Due to the…”intimate” I think would be the word…reason for the two being together, the alibi is now seen as untrustworthy, and as a result, actually weaves the person the suspect was with into trouble as well. Running out of options, Takao and Takanashi decide to review a recording that was done at the time the body was discovered, with Takanashi and Takao catching something odd.
Because of that, they set up a scenario for the person who Takao thinks did the murder instead of the police’s suspect (the latter being the suspect that I keep bringing up) and wait there with the police. Somebody does show up, and Takao tells him not to move…for the episode to end.
Okay, there’s one week of this show left, and it’s guaranteed to finish this mystery. It seems like they’ll be using most, if not all, of the next episode to connect the threads. Hopefully the solution makes sense and doesn’t feel like it was being pulled out of thin air because there’s no other way to make the mystery conclude. But, yeah, this was certainly an episode. I’ll stick around for the next episode, though if this show does get a Season 2, I’ll probably wait until the season has finished airing before I write reviews so that I don’t deal with the frustration of the skip weeks ever again.
