Alright. Remember when I brought up last week that there’s the potential I could switch what OS I use to watch Wash It All Away? Surprise, I’ve since switched to using the Xfinity Flex app to watch Wash It All Away instead of the Nintendo Switch app! Honestly, the experience on the Flex app is so much smoother. Okay, time to talk about the episode now before I go on a whole ass tangent.
After a quick recap of the end of the previous episode, we get to see Kinme, Kyu, Moruda (the brother that was introduced in last week’s episode), and Kuriru (the sister that was introduced in last week’s episode) at work…and by “Kinme, Kyu, Moruda, and Kuriru”, I mean “Kinme, Kyu, and Kuriru are actually doing work while Moruda takes a nap”. Clearly the nap is important.
However, for the plot to go on, the clothes get mostly done in the first setting, with Kinme ending up going down to sleep herself. While Kuriru and Moruda (via Kuriru carrying Moruda) are the first to head home, Kyu stays back just long enough to hang the clothes that were completely washed that day.
While Kinme herself falls asleep later, she thankfully wakes up later enough to give herself enough time to finish the remaining clothes for the festival on her own and do her regular business, even delivering them that evening to ensure that the community has their necessary gear for the festival. Yay! 😀
During this episode, we also get to see the festival itself. While there wasn’t any major plot revelations made during the festival, at least we got to see it! Honestly, I would’ve been disappointed if we didn’t. Typically when something gets repeated, we see it have some importance, even if it’s just “it appears as something the main character experiences”.
And while I have my grievances regarding the fact that the only progression in Kinme at the festival is that she’s like “I think this is going to be a happy memory for me as well! :D”, I can excuse it because it’s literally Episode 5 and whatever is going to be a heavy hitting moment for this series is likely being saved for next week’s episode. And with the title of next week’s episode, it seems like we’re going to get ANOTHER thing that’s been hinted at during the earlier episodes.
Yes, you could say we’ve technically already seen that thing in the series. HOWEVER, if my theory is correct, we may get more hints as to what happened to Kinme prior to her losing her memory in next week’s episode. There’s no way a previous scene was just there for one time. It had to be a sign, I tell you!
However, this was still a fun episode overall. It was nice to see a scene of teamwork making the dream work, and I can fully understand why this part of the story was included, especially considering the buildup that had been done prior to that point.
I can’t wait to see what ends up being done next week! :]
