Sara Talks Anime Plans – Fall 2025 Anime Season Edition

“I’m just testing out things with my art style!” I tell myself as I casually kind of steal Gosho Aoyama’s eye style. In my defense, I think there’s still enough tells between my style and Aoyama’s style to prevent our styles from being confused. And yes, I know that shading with a color close to black is a rookie mistake in art. But, like…I panicked and picked it, sorry.

Anyway, I was thinking that at the beginning of each anime season (or close to the end of the season before it, if I pick a show to do simulcast writeups for that I also choose to post writeups on the day of), I’d talk about what my plans for the site for the anime season are, and pair that up with an art piece by yours truly that matches with the season! Anyway, let’s begin!

KEY

text like this – Series that got coverage on Sara Talks Anime prior to this post.

text like this – Series that hasn’t been covered on Sara Talks Anime, but I will talk about elsewhere (typically my account on the Fediverse outside of this site, ash_plavell@urusai.social.)

text like this – Series that hasn’t been covered on Sara Talks Anime prior to this post, but will be soon. This is mainly due to the fact that it hasn’t premiered yet.

Carryovers

Simulcasts that started in a previous anime season that I will continue to watch during the Fall 2025 anime season that has no gap between seasons. Please note that this does not count additional seasons of shows that aired after a gap between their previous season. Those are under Continuations instead.

  • Detective Conan

NOTE: While I follow Detective Conan as a simulcast, coverage on Sara Talks Anime at the moment is based on where I currently am in my rewatch of the older stuff (as well as my first viewing of some of it), and will take a while to catch up to where the simulcast is, assuming it ever does catch up to where the simulcast is.

  • Secrets of the Silent Witch

NOTE: For one episode only, due to the airing of Episode 9.5 after Episode 9 instead of going straight to Episode 10.

Continuations

Shows that are receiving a new season this anime season after a gap between the previous season.

  • Ranma 1/2 (2024, 2nd Season)
    • Season 1 aired in the Fall 2024 anime season.

NOTE: While I won’t be covering it, my mom will be on her site!

  • Spy x Family (2022, 3rd Season)
    • Season 1 aired across both the Spring and Fall anime seasons of 2022, and Season 2 aired in the Fall 2023 anime season.

NOTE: While I won’t be covering it, my mom will be on her site!

New Premieres

Shows that are airing their first season during this anime season.

  • A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace

Outside of Site Updates

Stuff that I need to do off of this site that I hope I’ll get done during this anime season.

The key does not apply to series titles here.

  • Actually finish the Summer 2025 Preliminary Opinion videos. :<
  • First Flash videos for A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life, Chainsaw Man, and Angel Beats, as well as A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace (once I need it).
  • Preliminary Opinion videos (once I get to the point of needing them) for Angel Beats, Chainsaw Man, A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace, and A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life.
  • Maybe also a Gods’ Games We Play Anime Spotlight if we’re lucky.

On Site Updates

Mix of stuff that will change starting with this anime season and stuff that I hope I’ll get done during this anime season on site.

The key does not apply to series titles here.

  • Starting with this anime season, instead of using the “Additional Posts About” header for interlinking simulcast writeups, I’ll utilize what I’ve been using for the Sara Watches Detective Conan posts to interlink them. Example below to illustrate what I mean. And yes, like in the example, I’ll only utilize episode numbers, not the title. Note that the old style will remain for additional seasons of shows that were started before this change.
Text showcasing two spots for links. One for a previous post, which shows "N/A", and one for the next post, which shows "Episode 3".
Taken from Sara Watches Detective Conan: Episodes 1 and 2
  • Images for most of the warning boxes will be updated so that I’m no longer reusing old assets from the YouTube channel for them. The only one that will remain the same is the one for when I believe that a portrayal of a serious subject is actually more harmful than helpful, as I genuinely believe nothing except for that can match my feelings.
  • To be honest, I don’t really like all the green on the site, so I’m gonna see if I can play around with the colors to get the greens to be more of a color that I think would match better with the site. I’m thinking maybe a dull blue-ish color to match with the eye color of my little mascot.
  • I also want to go through my pages for my simulcast writeups and replace the synopses that I took from Crunchyroll with my own written synopses for the various shows. I suspect that this is something that’ll take some time, so please forgive me if this isn’t 100% done during the Fall 2025 anime season.

Sara’s Concluding Notes

To be honest, I think I really match the little mascot in this anime season’s drawing. I’m really just standing there and processing the fact that this is the first anime season where I’ll be posting content just to here, instead of also posting to my mom’s site as well. Fall’s the season of change, if that’s what the leaves falling from the trees has taught me. And while this is certainly a change, it’s a welcome one for me.

The Fall season is also another important monumental part of my aniblogging journey. While I didn’t begin doing my own posts until the middle of the Summer 2023 season, the Fall anime season is the anniversary of me doing my first full series simulcast writeups (instead of jumping in during the middle), with the first full series that I did writeups for being Stardust Telepath. If it weren’t for Detective Conan, Ranma 1/2 (2024), and Spy x Family all trying to take center stage on Saturday, I would’ve loved to pick up more simulcasts, but the ones I saw in Crunchyroll’s lineup for this season either failed to grab me or, if they did grab me, then they would’ve been adding to my already stacked Saturday simulcast list, and I didn’t really feel like pushing any viewings back.

But, you know? Going back to only doing one series for writeups (once the final episode of Secrets of the Silent Witch airs, at least) is actually going to be rather nostalgic. That’s what I was doing from the Fall 2023 season until the Summer 2025 season, and it’d be nice to take a trip down memory lane and do what appears to be a sweet slice of life show where cute girls do cute things. We can get back to the absolute chaos that’s the remainder of the anime sphere in the Winter 2026 season, but I think it’s time we wrap up this crazy mess of a year with a show that’s more on the chill side than something like One Piece or Clevatess.

First stop, Episode 13 of Secrets of the Silent Witch on Friday Saturday. After that? We push ahead into the Fall 2025 season! I’ll see all of you then! Choo choo! :3

  1. I feel this 😆. Loving how you’re experimenting with your art style, even if you’re “borrowing” a bit from Aoyama—your personal touches still shine through. The site plans for Fall 2025 sound super organized, and I love that you’re pairing each season with your own art piece. The key for series coverage is smart, makes everything way easier to track.

Also, switching up the site visuals, synopses, and mascots? Big mood. I get the nostalgia vibe with going back to just one series at a time—it’s kinda wholesome after the chaos of multiple simulcasts. Excited to see how Secrets of the Silent Witch Episode 13 kicks things off and how Fall 2025 unfolds on your blog 😎🎨.

You’re leveling up both your art and your anime blogging game at the same time. Keep it up! 🚂✨
