Always a Catch Episode 5 – “How the One That Got Away Visited Home”

The episode naming structure for Always a Catch confuses me. Episodes 1 through 3 were named things along the lines of “How I…” which, okay, fair, we know those are talking about Mimi, since she’s the main character. Starting in Episode 4 and persisting into this episode and the next one, however, the episode naming structure has gone into “How the One That Got Away…” from the very simple “How I…” we had in Episodes 1 through 3. And I’m just confused what “the One That Got Away” means in the context of the series. Maybe I’m just too tired to put two obvious puzzle pieces together. Anyway, to me talking about the episode.

Today’s the day Mimi heads home to the kingdom of Muro! There’s a whole entire plan where one carriage takes her part of the way, and then a second carriage takes her the rest of the way, due to how long the trip between Rubini and Muro is. Mimi gets to have some free samples and even buys some grapes before the carriage she’s going to take the rest of the way arrives! Yay! 😀

The second carriage takes a stop for lunch along the way, and has discussions between Mimi and the people driving the carriage about whether or not she’s changed at all between her arrival in the kingdom of Rubini and now. I feel like it speaks for itself.

On the way to the Annovazzi residence, the carriage is stopped by a group, which I had initially assumed to be the bandits. When the people driving the carriage got off to talk to these people, however, it was revealed that these weren’t the bandits, but instead people who were having issues with the lord of their area. Mimi offers a way to indirectly help. While it seems like the bandit plot line is abandoned because of these people, don’t worry. There are still bandits to fight.

I won’t cover much more, as you know that it has to turn out in a way that allows Mimi to get back on the road to the Annovazzi residence, with her even commenting (either in the episode itself or the preview for the next episode, I forgot which) that due to how long it’s been since she was last here, it feels unfamiliar, despite having grown up here. Can relate from back when I was attending college.

This was a fun episode. Absolutely enjoyed the energy that Mimi had in it, and the preview for next week’s episode has me interested in the full extent of what’s going to happen in it.

Before I launch you guys into the links for the previous and next episodes, though, I need to give a quick warning: if you’re searching Google for this site or content on it by “putting it in quotes like this!”, then make sure you aren’t clicking suspicious URLs. There are some sites that have pages that I can only assume were compiled via keyword scraping to create SEO spam that include my site name in there, likely to host either malicious ads or phishing links. It seems you’re easily able to avoid this by removing the quotes, but I think it’s better to make you guys aware, even as just a footnote in a writeup, so that you can evade them. Please avoid clicking links from the following domains whenever possible:

  • toronto-internationalmotors[dot]pl
  • medicinadelbellessere[dot]it
  • keenbikesupport[dot]nl
  • pietermaakt[dot]nl
  • sealsanerja[dot]es
  • bijopa[dot]nl
  • pitstopfiano[dot]it
  • onara[dot]fr

Note: all [dot]s would be replaced with . when looking at them in search results.

All of the above domains have used the exact phrase “sara talks anime” (most likely in reference to this site) in whatever data that’s being sent to make Google search summaries to pop up. The first of these pages that I’ve noticed (at the time of writing) doesn’t appear until page 2, but just in case there are younger or less tech-literate readers on my blog, those domains are not affiliated with me or the Sara Talks Anime stuff I do. If you do accidentally click one of them, please make sure to do a scan on your device to make sure it isn’t compromised.
