This is the first show that I’ve covered on this site where I actually get to cover a continuation to the story! Yay! And before people point it out, yes, I know this season is officially known as Clevatess II, but just to keep formatting consistent across my posts, as I suspect that I won’t be needing to use any custom name when the second season of another show that I’ve watched that has announced a second season comes out.
Also rather happy that I didn’t have to wait as long for this season compared to the wait between the first season and the second season of one of my simucasts that I didn’t cover here.
Anyway, it appears that this episode actually shows us a scene from later on in the story, as it shows Alicia getting surrounded by a group of spiders, some characters that we have yet to meet, and Clevatess’s human form (friendly reminder both for those who haven’t read my Clevatess writeups in a while and those who are reading my writeups for the first time that I call all of Clevatess’s forms “Clevatess” just to keep things simpler for myself) having summoned a black spire and basically…challenging the others? Look, I’ll probably understand this scene better once I see it in context with the rest of this season’s story.
The story of this episode then rolls back to our trio being asked what they want, and Clevatess states that he wants to become the prince’s magic teacher. Nelluru officially becomes Luna’s wet nurse, and Alicia accompanies the queen to a bridge where our three main kingdoms engage in discussions. During these discussions, an agreement gets reached between the three kingdoms.
Boelate, the kingdom that basically started all of this, agrees to a two year ceasefire and allows people from other kingdoms to attend the divine academy Solsein, letting members of those other kingdoms look for Drel’s hidden room.
This is where the school stuff comes into play: Clevatess modifies Alicia’s height to be shorter, and when Alicia points out that she doesn’t look like she’s from Hiderat, Clevatess fixes that by making her look more like someone who came from there. He doesn’t have to do that to himself because he already looks like someone from there, but it’s certainly going to be something that I’m going to have to get used to when watching this season.
We meet some new characters, my least favorite being two twins who I only remember because they look similar and are two jerkasses, though my favorite of the new characters is Ray. Ray, please don’t turn out to be secretly evil. You’re so cool and I’d hate to have you be against our main cast.
Anyway, remember the pink haired girl from season 1 who was with the insect wizard had been to that secret room to get the crystal in her forehead, but since she doesn’t remember where she entered, she is sent by the Boelate king to get hired as a teacher at Solsein to investigate where Drel’s secret room is.
Back to the new characters, the reason why I brought those two up specifically is that they engage in a fight. During this fight, we learn about three types of magic: herbal magic (which the twins use), crystal magic (which seems to be the main magic we saw in season 1), and Crest Incantation Magic (which is what Ray uses). And augh, Crest Incantation Magic is so cool, really hope it doesn’t get ruined. Again, Ray, please be a good guy.
Teachers break up the fight, and the twins and Ray are sent to the teachers’ office because magic isn’t allowed to be used on campus outside of class. The episode ends with that teacher saying for the remaining students to head to their classrooms due to training starting soon. Some students go, but we do get a shot of Clevatess’s reaction to all of this.
Honestly, this was a cool way to start the season. I feel like it’s building up to something big. Unfortunately, I don’t get any episode previews or next episode titles, so your guess as to where the story goes from here is as good as mine. I highly enjoyed it, and I honestly can’t wait to see where Clevatess goes from here!
