For the first time in quite a while, I have no clue what to say to properly lead into one of these posts. Probably due to the fact that they’d include spoilers for the episode that I would not feel comfortable in including in the part of the post that gets previewed on my socials.
“Just edit the thing that gets shown on socials!” you might be saying. “You know how to do that, and you’ve done it before!”
And to answer that complaint: I don’t want to do that right now. The only reason I did it for the first episodes of series I was reviewing was because I wanted to let people know “Hey! I’m reviewing this series this season!”, so that if they wanted to check out my site to see my first impressions, they could.
Alright, enough stalling. My thoughts on the episode? I enjoyed it! I don’t know if it’s just because my only frames of reference for mystery anime are Detective Conan (known for quite a while in America as Case Closed due to at-the-time copyright issues), SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary, and Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective or what, but Monica poking her head around to try and figure out whodunnit really reminded me of the early cases in Detective Conan, back before Conan got his gadgets.

…never mind, I think I figured why I’m getting reminded of Detective Conan. It’s because they’re both small.

…maybe Monica isn’t as small as I thought. But whatever. We do get to see the solution of the case, and Monica does get to tell how she solved it. And…that earns her a place on the student council! 😮
She becomes treasurer, which means that she can do math! Yippie! 😀
Monica and Nero are still the best characters in the series, you cannot change my mind on that. They’re best characters and the best duo. To be honest, I feel like Monica is a character that is me core. And if you disagree, you’re wrong. You don’t know me.
Honestly, this was such a fun episode, especially with Isabelle doing her whole “evil villainess act”.

Of course, I can’t wait to see how the story changes starting from here, and what sort of mishaps Monica ends up in. It definitely seems like her work isn’t done quite yet. And this is one of the series that I am proud to say I will be sticking with throughout the rest of the anime season. Monica has won me over, and I can’t wait to see how the story of the Silent Witch proceeds.
