Victoria of Many Faces Episode 7 – “I Made Great Memories”

You know that shit’s getting serious if I have to include that in a post. Like, I genuinely believe that if I don’t include these spoilers, this writeup literally would not make sense. I’ve also had to pause and take time to let everything in this episode just cement itself in my mind because oh my fucking god?! The ending of this episode?! Hello?!

*ahem*

Anyway, we start the episode with where the last episode left off. We see scenes of Victoria going through her life without Nonna there, and it’s just so sad! She does take the time to test the old man who we met last episode by engaging in a sparring match with him, where she determined that he was not the original occupant of the residence.

We also find out that he’s an agent meant to monitor Victoria’s activity. Also, multiple people have found out that she isn’t the real Victoria Sellars. And while some have come to the “she’s an operative from another country” conclusion, it seems that none of the people in the episode who came to that conclusion had figured out exactly who she is outside of the Victoria Sellars mask.

On the Nonna front, she does end up returning to Victoria’s place after a lock gets added to her room, and she got asked to call the nobles who took her in “Mother” and “Father”, and was being referred to as Delores. It does turn out that the dead child story is real, and they only wanted Nonna to play the role of their dead child.

…okay, so I was right to be suspicious of them, but I was suspicious of them for the wrong reasons, I guess? Am I allowed to take that as a win? Please?

The couple does seem to understand, though, and send over a lot of expensive items as a way to sort of say goodbye, which I thought was rather sweet.

Then there’s the bitterness of the fact that Victoria makes the decision to leave without informing the people she met here, leaving Jeff to be the one to deliver the news. C’mon, man! 😦 I just recovered from the events of last episode, and you decide “fuck that, we’re going to slap you in the face with Victoria leaving because she doesn’t want to stay in one place for too long.

Now, this could be my memory failing me, so please correct me if I’m incorrect, but I believe that this episode was framed in such a way so that it’s unclear if Victoria took Nonna with her or not. If that is the case, then I believe that has to be an intentional framing decision. If it isn’t…then my memory’s just failing me, that’s all there is to it.

After this episode, there’s only two episodes left. It’s going to be interesting to see exactly how the next episodes play out, as honestly, not even I can figure out what direction the story will take now. Mainly hoping for a happy ending for the story, but honestly, just as long as things still make sense as they have been, I think things will be just fine.
