Meitantei Precure Episode 22 – “Shiruku’s Resolve”

Sorry for that, but I literally don’t think I can talk about a specific part without spoiling the episode.

Anyway, another episode for this Cure Eclair arc. Time for me to go through with talking about it.

Cure Eclair Suspect That Gets Focus In This Episode: Shiruku

Cure Eclair Hint(s) From This Episode (SPOILERS!)
Whoever is Cure Eclair won’t remember being Cure Eclair, as Cure Eclair lost her memories.

My Stance On This Suspect Being Cure Eclair Prior To Watching The Episode: I believe that Shiruku is the person who is Cure Eclair.

Do I Think My Stance Is Still Justifiable After The Episode? (SPOILERS!)
Half and half. On one hand, we don’t see Shiruku do the “what? they disappeared!” act in this episode, as she wasn’t someone who was in the area when the Hanninda was summoned. On the other, due to the girls coming to my same conclusion at the end of this episode, I’m feeling less confident about my theory being correct now. Still going to hold onto it, though.

Disclaimer: Spoilers in the collapsible sections may get repeated unmarked later in this writeup. If you don’t want to take the risk of getting spoiled for Meitantei Precure, please stop reading this writeup here.

Anna and Jett are discussing the Cure Eclair picture, when Mikuru comes in with an invitation to a show being put on by Shiruku to interact with her backstage.

Elsewhere, the Phantom Thieves’ Guild gets another prophecy, which Luluka manages to decipher. Usonoir asks her to go, and Goemon gives the “lie lie, sir”, going along to support Luluka.

Anna and Mikuru arrive, and get taken back to Shiruku’s dressing room by Shiruku’s manager. They find out that a calling card has been sent to Shiruku, which they realize means that the Phantom Thieves’ Guild is jumping into action here. Anna decides to question the audience while Mikuru decides to question the staff.

Anna has the easier job (and even sees Luluka!), while Mikuru struggles for a bit, eventually taking advantage of the fact that the makeup artist for the other actor is out. Mikuru’s investigation ends up being fruitless.

We then see Anna go into Shiruku’s dressing room, asking to hold onto Shiruku’s earring.

Shiruku, meanwhile, instantly clocks that this isn’t Anna, due to other habits of Anna’s that she had already picked up on. Luluka detransforms, yet Shiruku gives Luluka the earring anyway?! Even if it gets taken by Goemon instead.

With that all played out, however, a Hanninda battle occurs, all while the show that Shiruku is doing goes on. Most notably, Shiruku never gives a “they vanished! :o” line due to the fight not being close enough for Shiruku to see it, or at least she was too focused on performing to see it.

Though the Hanninda gets defeated, it’s during the fight that we get our next Cure Eclair clue: the person who is Cure Eclair doesn’t remember being Cure Eclair.

Anyway, the earring gets returned, and Anna and Mikuru have a conversation with Shiruku, with Shiruku making a comment about making new memories. Some time later at the agency, however, Anna and Mikuru have their current conclusion be that Shiruku is Cure Eclair.

This is where I’m starting to place a bit of doubt in my theory that Shiruku is Cure Eclair. I doubt that a theory that is confirmed now will actually end up being true. Am I going to still hold onto this theory? Hell yeah. Do I know that it’s technically me being a bit delusional? Hell yeah. Do I care? Hell no.

Anyway, next week is Kurea’s episode, genuinely hope that there’s enough evidence to prove she’s not Cure Eclair.
