Kitties! :3 I’m sorry, I tried to think of a better way to lead into this post, but I literally can’t think of anything that would really work to lead into this. Sorry. 😦
I’ll have to do my best to give you guys the writeup that you deserve, considering that, despite the fact that the time this goes up likely won’t reflect it at all, I have had delays in writing this post, first just because of me trying to think up of a good way to lead into this post before throwing something at the wall and hoping it sticks. Anyway, let’s get into the post.
We start the episode with a scene of the mother cat going to a farm and seeing a bunch of foxtails. She plays with them, and meets the human who farmed them, learning that they got the seeds from a cat in the forest. This is such a cool way to connect the previous episode to this one, as it’s a nice little thread from the last episode. I also feel like it’s a sign that these episodes were originally one story from two different perspectives, but that may just be me not knowing the source material.
After the academy that Anne Rossa (the student from Episode 2) is going on break, the mother cat gets convinced to take a trip off of campus over the break, which she decides that she’ll use to visit her home, especially after hearing rumors from earlier in the episode from the human.
She asks her demon son to help her get into the forest…but the cat dragon has a barrier up that makes traveling into it via portal impossible. That would mean that for the mother cat to get into the forest, she first has to teleport into the local kingdom, and then walk into the forest from there. She’s willing to do that work, though, and has her demon son teleport both of them there, and then teleport himself back so that he can do his job.
The mother cat comes across a cat who lives in the city, and after a conversation, the cat decides to lead the mother cat to the forest for her. They first stop by the square from the previous episode, taking a look at the foxtails, and then stops and talks to the boss behind it. She’s not allowed in the square yet, but is stated she can stop by at the festival. Woah, episode 6 mentioned..
The second stop, however, is the cave that started it all. This is when the mother cat runs into the cat dragon and the latter realizes “oh yeah, that’s my mom, thought she was dead”, though the two have a nice chat.
This has been one of my favorite episodes in the series so far. It’s such a nice way to tie everything together, and I hope that the next episodes continue to have little connections like this! I don’t know how much longer this series will continue, but I genuinely hope it at least continues throughout the remainder of this anime season!
