Clevatess Season 2 Episode 9 – “The Mirror Labyrinth”

Currently trying to wrap my head around everything, because there was just…a lot in this episode. I don’t know if I even know where to start with talking about this episode. There was just…a lot. Look, I’m not sure how to describe this myself, alright? There’s just…so much I need to process.

How about we start with the fact that I am now fully confusion on who is who when it comes to Romain and Milena? Episode 7 had it set up that Milea is actually Romain, and it gets established in this episode that supposedly the Milea that we see in the Mirror Labyrinth (which Alicia landed in during this episode) is actually Romain, but even with the flashback we get in this episode, it feels like there’s something off about that explanation. I dunno, maybe my experience with a different series is throwing me off here.

However, the actual Mirror Labyrinth location is such a cool location. Genuinely can’t wait to see more of it in future episodes, as I can tell there’s going to be some epic plot stuff that’s going to surround this place, especially with how the episode ended with Alicia falling further into the labyrinth alongside a beast.

This is also the episode where, at least in the mirror world, Alicia gets her normal body back because she can communicate with Clevatess again! So nice to see her in her normal body again, even if at this point I had grown used to seeing the body that Alicia had to be in to infiltrate Solsein. It definitely feels like we’re working towards the end of the season, though!

While we do get a scene at the beginning that’s more focused on Clevatess, as well as some cuts to the asshole twins and what they’re up to, the majority of this episode is focused on Alicia, which I like!

We also get to see every chapter of the Book of Toah get brought together and open the way to the locations talked about, with the group preparing to fulfill their goal. Hoping they fail, or at least realize that their plan won’t play out the way they want it to.

While I cannot think of any issues I have with the episode’s story, I do have my issues with just how long we had to see Alicia’s body showing more skin than usual. That is 100% a me thing, though, as while I do understand that logically that would happen, I still find it to be uncomfortable.

I’ll still be watching this series, and I hope that I’ll feel satisfaction with how the rest of the season goes!
