Always a Catch Episode 3 – “How I Trained to Become a Lady”

Okay, woo, this was an episode! Let’s see how well I can communicate what happened in this episode. I don’t think it’ll be that difficult, but I may end up stumbling over stuff. Many apologies if that is the case. Anyway, let’s get started.

Despite what the title of this episode suggests, we don’t get to see extremely in-depth lady training done by Mimi. We do hear some comments made by characters about how ladies shouldn’t act when compared to how Mimi acts, but not anything that gives us extreme depth. Considering that this series is more on the comedic side, however, this isn’t anything that completely turns me off from the series. I just wanted a silly little series, and that’s what I’m currently getting.

We do get to see another scene of Mimi at school. Last time we got that was…Episode 1, I think? I’m pretty sure that we didn’t get any of those kinds of scenes in Episode 2. While I’d appreciate more of them, so that it doesn’t feel like the setting is just tacked on to give a reason as to why Mimi is in the kingdom in the first place, but it’s fine. We also get some of those comments about how Mimi isn’t fully ladylike, and how Aida is working to change it.

…or not change it in some instances. This is where we have to introduce Rosalia, who seems to begin as the sort of mean girl archetype, is successfully swayed into thinking at least somewhat positively about Mimi, even if at this point Rosalia acts similarly to a tsundere after Mimi disarms her by just speaking her mind. Please never stop speaking your mind, Mimi.

We also get to see Mimi meet Renato’s family, as after the events of the ending of the previous episode, Mimi and Renato officially got engaged, with Mimi as the crown princess! Yippee! 😀

We also get to see Mimi meet Renato’s mom privately for tea. I won’t go into details about it, but it’s a fun watch!

And while I did say that this was a fun watch, I can’t really think of the words to describe what I’m really thinking about in terms of the episode. But that’s not a bad thing, as I still think it’s going to be worth it for me to follow this series. I genuinely wouldn’t mind keeping this as part of my Wednesday routine during the Spring 2026 anime season. Maybe I’ll have more to say next week, because the ending of this episode seems to be building up a new character, and depending on how that character gets developed, that may end up lengthening the next post. We’ll just have to wait for that moment, though.
