Ughhh, I know that my seasonal simulcast writeups have been shit as of late (which I do have a plan to combat starting next season), but this one’s probably going to be more shit than usual. Sorry, it’s just that at the time I’m writing this, I’m in that time of the month that people with a uterus experience, so if something that I originally would’ve just glossed over or hand-waved away is something that I get worked up over here, then my apologies. While I’m doing what I can to manage myself IRL, though depending on what I may be experiencing, some of my feelings may bleed through. I apologize in advanced if that’s the case for this writeup or my next two writeups.
So that I’m not constantly jumping between perspectives in this writeup and thus confusing myself, I’ll just pull the heading trick, trying something different for stylizing the headings as well.

Yes, I know, weird to start with him since the episode starts with Alicia’s POV, but I think it’d be easier for me to start with the POV that has less content within the episode so that if you want to know what’s happening with him, you don’t have to scroll through a wall of text actually talking about the episode, no matter how long, just to get there.
Clevatess arrives in the area where the gates leading to the five areas covered in the five chapters of the Book of Toah, seeing Vordin in human form. There’s a discussion regarding a previous king, as well as an explanation that this place technically counts as Clevatess’s domain. We also find out Vordin’s goal: destroying what’s connected to Toah, until nothing of it remains.
The two then engage in a fight, though Clevatess notices that this places fights him if he tries to return to his regular form. While we see the fight progress, we don’t get to see the end of it. The end of the battle will most likely be in this season.
That’s it, that’s all the content for Clevatess’s perspective. Honestly really nice to see this development, I’m still just a bit tired from this arc being dragged out this long. But before I go give my thoughts overall, I need to talk about…

Now, here’s the real meat of the story: Alicia’s point of view. At the end of the previous episode, Alicia was put into an illusion thing, and part of that involves her fighting her own father. Partway during that fight, though, it seems her father has a change of heart, and takes her home to live a comforting life with her parents.
Except…this is all just a deeper illusion while what should be her actual body is freezing. As it turns out, this warm moment is trying to get Alicia to look deep into her memories, reflect on why she became a hero, and accept it.
She does, and when she does, the warm illusion shatters, though her father is still nice to her. Then, Milea breaks it entirely, though she isn’t too pleased with what she saw.
Certainly setting up something interesting here. Well, I think that’s everything that I need to bring up–

Oh, right, I should probably cover this before people feel like I’m forgetting them. There are two other perspectives we have to talk about: the twins and Ray…oh, and technically the Orggite priestess too, but whatever.
First off, the twins. They’re still helping Milea escape, but we do get a bit of their backstory, and I think it works really well.
Then, the Orggite priestess manages to convince Zavthier to save the souls of the students. Ray was actually the second to wake up, with the first being Merry.
Alright. Unless there’s anything else I need to cover, I should be safe to cover my thoughts on the episode.

Okay, good, there’s nothing I’m forgetting.
While it’s a solid episode, I just wish that the episodes surrounding it were stronger. I’ll be honest, this season has been rough for me, but at least this episode is more on the bearable side compared to the rest of the season.
