Okay. Let’s see just how far I get into this writeup before I begin letting my frustration show. After all, there’s a character that we get an official introduction to in this episode that I don’t really like.
Okay, so we begin with more of the aftermath of the ending of the previous episode, which involved the assassination attempt on the queen, and how an investigation is starting regarding that, involving Mimi providing a dramatic recap to the knights of what happened, including her feelings about the fact that deserts, like macaroons, were wasted because of that assassination attempt. Mimi clearly has her priorities straight.
We also meet the character, who’s a man in his 30s who looks extremely young and is going after girls that are around Mimi’s age, including Mimi herself, and that’s where I begin taking issue with this character in particular. I hate how it feels like the story is trying to set him up as a love rival for the Mimi and Renato relationship.
I don’t think how old Mimi is (or if it has, then I somehow missed it), and her age plays a massive factor on whether or not this guy is truly acting creepy. If Mimi is in a setting that’s more similar to a high school, then my creep meter is up to 100%. If it’s more similar to a college, while it’s less creepy in my eyes, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t creepy. Either way, I don’t see this guy as a proper love rival, wake me up when there’s a proper love rival for the main ship.
There’s also a fun interaction with Rosaria, and I genuinely hope that we get to see more of them over the course of the series. They’re always just so fun to see occur!
We also get more Mimi development in regards, and based on everything that’s been set up so far, next episode will involve Mimi going to visit her home! Yippee!
This episode feels like it’s setting things up for next week’s episode, and I’m excited to see what route that takes us on! I think it might have us see more of Mimi’s backstory, as I doubt there’d be much more to explore backstory wise if they stay here. I know we’d have to come back here eventually, but a home visit sounds nice right now.
