I know that for people who haven’t been paying close attention to the blog, this post coming out now seems odd when these usually come out in the evening. However, due to plans that I have on the actual simulcast day for this show, which shares it with the simulcast day for the show whose post usually goes up at this time, due to it actually being a later simulcast, I opted to delay it to allow it to be at the quality I want it to be at. I also decided to push this one up because I just don’t like the idea of this hole not being filled. Do not expect this to happen again for the rest of the season.
The plot of the episode basically follows explaining the story of how foxtails ended up in the forest, as well as what happens every year with a specific area that is now being used for the foxtails. The area is named after the cat who started it, and the cat that becomes the leader to continue maintaining the space earns that name as well, training cats and picking one to continue the duty.
Look, I’m sorry, I don’t have it in me to do a full in-depth recap of this episode. I stayed up until midnight to get details about a very specific Netflix release, and when I saw some glaring omissions from that release, I stayed up a bit longer just to try and get my frustration out of my system before going to bed, and as a result, I’m more tired than usual. I know people will be like “you could just delay this post”, but no, that’d be the easy way out, and I do not want to take the easy way out and just have this at regular time instead of being pushed forward.
Once all is said and done, however, this was still a very fun episode to watch. I really love when these episodes have more of a focus on the cats in the forest than a cat going to human territory. I know that the synopsis plays up that the cat dragon warms up to humans because of the cats that chose to connect with humans, which means there will have to be more cats that interact with humans in the series. That’s not a bad thing, as it’s likely necessary for the series to communicate the messages it’s trying to get across, it’s just not really what I prefer to watch in this series. And hey, that’s fine. Still gonna stick with this series, because kitties! :3
This series is a fun ride so far, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
